Casey Smith

Meet the Smith Family. Jodi and Casey have been married for 17 years. They have 6 amazing kids. Hallie-15 Olivia-14 Luke-11 Lincoln-10 Emma-6 and Bo-3. This is no ordinary family. You can find the Smith’s constantly serving others, always having fun but most of all, they are always together. You will not find better kids or more devoted parents.

In the fall of 2017, Jodi was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. After months of difficult chemotherapy treatments and one major surgery, Jodi received a clean bill of health. A true miracle.

About a week after her clean scans, Jodi packed up the kids and headed to Utah for a family-filled summer with the kiddos. Casey stayed home to work with plans to meet up with the family at a later date. A few days into the trip, Jodi received a phone call that Casey had collapsed and had two seizures while helping a friend move. Jodi caught a plane in the middle of the night to be by Casey’s side.

Casey was diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforme - an inoperable tumor in the brain. Casey will receive radiation and chemotherapy as treatment as this tumor does not yet have a cure.

To know the Smith family is to love them. The Smith kids are incredible examples, faithful as can be and righteous in all they do. Plus, they are fun-loving, hilarious and love each other deeply. To say they’ve had more than their fair share is an understatement but they persevere and continue to choose the right. It is absolutely amazing how these kids have handled the cards that have been dealt to them with both of their parents being diagnosed with cancer. It’s a true testament of good values and a strong family unit.

We’ve set up this page to hopefully provide some relief to their family at this time but also because so many people have asked to help. We are truly grateful for all the people who have rallied together and lifted this incredible family up by serving, sending texts, calling, helping with the kids, providing meals, serving others but most of all praying. We’ll continue to pray, pray, pray as we support the Smith’s and Casey.  #smithstrong

We have always admired and loved the Smith Family. We loved watching Travis and Casey competing on the basketball court and realized what a great young man Casey was and is. Our thoughts and prayers are with Casey and his lovely family.--Michael and Sandi Hendry

Casey is the best and he's always been better at golf than me. Not even close actually.--Jeremy Hansen
