2013 AFAF Benefit Concert--Nashville Tribute Band

We are thrilled and overwhelmed that the renown Nashville Tribute Band has graciously agreed to join with Joe Cottam and Bella's Fresh Mexican Grill to bring a night of fantastic food and soulful music.  It will be a powerful night and will be a wonderful date night or a special night for your entire family.  

Thanks will never be enough or cover the depth of gratitude that we feel for Jason Deere, the Cottam's, and The Nashville Tribute Band for putting on this incredible concert.  Please join us on September 20th and have your hearts filled with light and inspiration!

About The Nashville Tribute Band

Jason Deere regularly invites a revolving cast of talented artists and musicians that he calls the Nashville Tribute Band ® to join him in touring the world performing the stories and songs from the albums Joseph: A Nashville Tribute To The Prophet, Trek: A Nashville Tribute To The Pioneers and THE WORK: A Nashville Tribute To The Missionaries.

Albums

In 2003, hit Nashville songwriter and record producer Jason Deere began teaching the Old and New Testament in an early morning seminary class for high school students in Franklin, Tennessee. His research and teaching inspired him to write an album of songs about LDS church history from 1820 to 1844. The album Joseph: A Nashville Tribute To The Prophet was co-produced with Deere’s longtime friend Dan Truman, of the Grammy Award winning country group Diamond Rio. Dan Truman also wrote one of the songs on the album. The album was released by Deseret Books’ Highway Records in 2005 and it became one of Deseret Books’ best selling albums, winning Pearl Awards for Contemporary Album Of The Year, Inspirational Recording Of The Year (Emma), Contemporary Instrumental Recorded Song Of The Year (Say Uncle), Songwriter Of The Year (Jason Deere). The LDS Booksellers Association also awarded the album a 2006 Listener’s Choice Award for Album Of The Year and awarded Deere a 2006 Listener’s Choice Award for Best New Artist.

Deere and Truman co-produced a second Nashville Tribute album released in 2007 called Trek: A Nashville Tribute To The Pioneers. The album covers LDS history from June 1844 through the many years of the 

great pioneer trek by thousands of Mormons as they made their way to the Salt Lake Valley. The album won the 2007 Pearl Award for Group Recording Artist Of The Year (Jason Deere, The Nashville Tribute Band) as well as the 2008 Pearl Award for Inspirational Instrumental Recording Of The Year (My People/Come, Come Ye Saints).

Years of touring the world with the Nashville Tribute Band ®, along with Deere and Truman’s own experience serving two-year missions for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, led to the writing and production of the album THE WORK: A Nashville Tribute To The Missionaries. The album pays tribute to the unique culture of sending thousands of missionaries into the world every year and all of the experiences associated with the elders, sisters and their families and friends as they serve.

Pioneers and THE WORK: A Nashville Tribute To The Missionaries. Over the years Dan Truman (of the Grammy Award-winning country group Diamond Rio), Ron Saltmarsh (Emmy Award winning producer and musician), Brad Hull, Matt Lopez and Tim Gates (of the country group Due West), entertainer David Osmond, actor and recording artist Katherine Nelson (who plays Emma in Joseph, Prophet Of The Restoration and Emma: My Story), country artist Billy Dean, and pop artist Mindy Gledhill are all among those who have often joined the stage with the band. The band has done over 750 shows for audiences in the U.S., Canada, Australia and China since 2004. They have performed in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City as well as several performances in the Tabernacle on Temple Square including headling the Church’s New Years Eve event on Temple Square in 2011 and 2012.
