The Anything for a Friend family has lost a great friend today. Our hearts are heavy as we have to say good-bye to Sweet Bob. He was an incredible man and has left a wonderful legacy through his children. We are so relieved that his body is out of pain and now turn our focus to the family that he had to leave behind. May God's peace fill the immense gap that has been left in many hearts this day, as the tears from heaven are a reflection of our broken hearts. Bob, you will be missed!

The Results are in!  With all of your help the sweet Eggett family received nearly $23,000 to help them through this trial in their life.  What an amazing evening!  Thank you Bob, Ingrid and kids for the opportunity.

Bob Eggett

On December 14, 2004 Bob Eggett underwent extensive brain surgery to remove a tennis ball sized tumor, called Oligodendroglioma, from his left frontal lobe.  Six weeks of radiation followed.  Miraculously he recovered well and began to live his life with his family, even welcoming two more children into his family and graduating from LDS Business College in April of 2010. In late September Bob, Ingrid and their six children received the news that his brain tumor had returned.  By mid March Bob will have undergone his second brain surgery.

 

To help Bob and his family with mounting medical bills and to show them how many people love, care and support them, an Anything for a Friend community fundraiser event is being held.  We need all of your help!  That help may be participating on the organizing committee, donating to the silent/live auction, giving a cash donation, or showing your support in a unique way, we welcome anything you can do.  We believe that when enough 'anything's' are brought together, miracles can and do occur.

 

Pre-Event Activity:

As an organizing committee we have decided to do something special at Bob's event!  We are doing a balloon launch.  We are mindful of the terrible news that Bob received last week and want to help create some unforgettable memories for him and his loved ones.  Imagine hundreds of balloons being released as Bob, Ingrid, and their children are being surrounded by loved  ones in a moment of solidarity!  You can buy your balloons in advance and send a hope filled message to be placed in the balloons or you can purchase them the night of the event.  The balloons are $2 a piece and up for you generous souls!  Thank you for adding to this small miracle for the Eggett's.

Please continue to express your willingness to do anything you can for Bob and Ingrid.  Tell all of your friends, family, and neighbors to join you on the night of the 29th at Bob's event.  Let's fill the room to the brim and over flowing!

1.  Painting by the Eggett Children                                        Retail Value: Priceless

 This painting is very special.  Bob’s children wanted to do something to get involved and help with their dad’s fundraiser. With the guidance of their art teacher, Brenda Kidd, they created this beautiful piece.  It gave them the opportunity show their dad how much they love him, as well as illustrate their feelings about Daddy having brain cancer.

 

2.  REAL Soccer Tickets                                                          Retail Value: $275    

 Two tickets for the soccer enthusiast to see our 2009 MLS Cup Champions.  These are excellent seats to REAL Salt Lake Vs. Seattle Sounders on Saturday May 28^th, 2011.  Also included with these tickets is a soccer ball and Jersey.

 Jim  Carlson lost his battle with brain cancer on December 21, 2010.  His daughter, Angie, has graciously donated a beautiful diamond ring from her father’s estate as a way to honor his memory and to join the hearts of Bob and Jim in their journey’s with brain cancer! This ring is size 5, but can be re-sized up to size 7. The diamond is 0.15-.0.20 ct, set in 14K White Gold. The Color is K-M and the clarity is S12.  This is a beautiful ring for that special someone in your life!
