Carson Tueller

Many of you have been asking and excited to hear about Carson's Event.  I am so excited to report that the preliminary total is in and that amazing experience on Saturday (that I am sure will stay with all of us forever!). Raised nearly $47,000!!!!!!  Thank you all for the hard work, love, care, and compassion.  Let's move forward and DEFY THE ODDS!  We love you Carson.

December 30, 2013 marked a day that would forever change the Tueller household.  During a family outing, Carson, 23, suffered an accident that left him with a severely broken neck.  Despite emergency medical treatment and surgery, Carson's injuries resulted in the loss of sensation and muscular control from the chest down.

Carson’s road to recovery could quite possibly take a lifetime.  It is impossible to calculate the costs required; financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually for Carson and his family.  The Tueller family realizes that this tragedy will tax their resources, testing them to the limit.  They realize that there will be physical changes needed for their home, cars, and many other expenses that they cannot even foresee.

This tragic accident, has changed Carson's life and the lives of those who love him forever.  More than anything, we are hoping that this event will show him just how much he is loved, prayed for, thought of, and remembered…and it is our desire that Carson will feel this, and that it will bring him hope and courage.  Bishop Larkin said, “These opportunities (events) effectively help the ones in need, but importantly also help the hundreds that want and need to serve.  These efforts strengthen communities and increase the capacity of participants to better face their own challenges.”

The goal for the event is to show Carson and his family that they are loved and supported, while at the same time strengthening those who participate in facing their own challenges.  That is what Carson would want.  As his brother Braun wrote, “What truly makes Carson special is the fact that I know his hopes, dreams, prayers, and efforts will be focused on the people he loves instead of on himself.”
