Help the Johnston Family
Robert and Kimberly Johnston live in a small town in Northern Arizona. Robert worked at a job that he loved, office manager for a local silver smith whose emphasis is creating belt buckles for rodeo participants. As the sole breadwinner, Robert’s income was just enough for his family to barely scrape by, but when COVID-19 caused the shutdown of rodeos Robert was furloughed for a couple of months and was only able to secure part time work. Business at the silversmith has resumed somewhat, but not enough to do more than sustain the Johnson family. Kimberly, his humble and faith filled wife of 25 years, has remained at home taking care of their oldest daughter, Colette, who suffers from severe autism that causes her extreme difficulty with functioning and requires very substantial full-time support.
Robert has battled illness for a long time, but when his family was exposed to COVID-19, Robert’s body was unable to conquer the virus and after being transported by an ambulance to a hospital hours away from his family and home, he died on January 20, 2021. Kimberly and Robert have three other children: Hailee who is attending the local college, Maren who is in high school, and Evan who is in third grade. The Johnson family is very loving and loyal to one another and united in the sweet and gentle care of their Colette. Kimberly and her family are devastated by the loss of their loving husband and father and are trying to cope with all of the changes his death will bring and their ability to care for Colette.
