The Page family have had their share of trials in the last two years. Their son Kayden was serving in the Utah National Guard at boot camp in South Carolina and ended up with a infection that he developed sepsis and needed emergency surgery. Around that time Josh began having serious throwing up spells which we believed was pancreatitis due to him having chronic pancreatitis from a genetic condition. We began going to the ER and November 2025 they figured out that Josh needed his spleen removed. January 21st they performed the surgery and determined it was far worse than they thought the spleen had adhered to his stomach, pancreas, and colon. They had to take some of the tail of his pancreas due to it being necrotic. 4 days post op Josh developed a septic infection and fought with that in the hospital. He then had a anaphylactic reaction to the contrast in a CT scan and he was intubated in the ICU for two days. They then found that he had a large amount of fluid all around his lungs and needed to put in a chest tube to pull that fluid out. This then made it so he developed pneumonia. He also developed a hematoma where his spleen once was that was full of infected fluid. While we were fighting all these things they discovered Josh had a hole in his stomach that was leaking and a pancreatic leak as well. He was put on absolutely no food or water and put on a IV for nutrition. They also went back in and placed a pancreatic stent to help with his recovery and started him on medication not covered by the insurance to treat the pancreas. They are told that it’s going to take a few months for everything to fully heal if we don’t have any additional complications.
Josh, Brandie, and their kids will serve anyone and everyone any time they are needed. Please consider helping them in their time of need. They have dealt with medical bills for the last 13 years but this hardship is going to impact them for a long time to come and Josh is going to need care for months at home on home health eventually when he gets out of the hospital.
Thank you for any consideration.
