Lorraine Lewis

Strength and perseverance, gentleness and meekness are not often found in a single person, but Lorraine Lewis is all of these things and so much more.  Unbelievably, this sweet and unique soul passed away in the early afternoon of Saturday, April 25th 2015 and this world and every individual that she came in contact with will never, ever be the same. 

 The weather seemed to reflect our sorrow and her grandeur, as the Angelic Army of Heaven gained a gentle warrior!  Like the artful angels that she crafted, Lorraine quietly, almost magically glided into our hearts and changed us while leaving a soft reminder that LIFE IS IN SESSION NOW!

 She lived this motto and taught all of us to do the same.  I can see her eyes dancing with love and encouraging everyone to live their lives to the fullest, be courageous and kind.  I am grateful for her example, love, kindness, and strength.  Her love for her family and her Ted will go on forever.  May we all remember that LIFE IS IN SESSION NOW and live our lives in a manner that will reflect the way that Lorraine’s wonderful example has altered us.  I love you Lorraine!  Thank you for being the one and only…magnificent you!

Preliminary results are in...With all of your love, support, and tenderness the concert for the Lewis' brought in nearly $32,000!  Thank you all so much for doing Anything for a Friend.  We love and appreciate you!

 

 

Colorectal Cancer reared its ugly head three short years ago for Lorraine Lewis, a beautiful and bright light in this world.  Her initial bout was short lived, as doctors felt confident that the surgery had taken care of the mutating cells. 

To everyone’s shock and horror, the cancer that had only a 5% chance of returning was back and in April 2014 the Lewis family was faced with the reality that the cancer was now Stage 4.  They are in for the battle of their lives!

Written by Brookey Smith, Lorraine’s daughter, “Anyone who knows my mom, Lorraine Lewis, can’t say enough about what an angel she is.  She is beautiful, kind, loving, giving, and selfless.  Our friend Stephanie Lee said, “One thing I know for sure is that the light your mom is in this world is such an indescribable blessing for so many of us.”  In this last whirlwind of a month in finding out about her cancer and how aggressive it is, this is how I have come to see her, a pillar of light.  She radiates hope and joy.  She believes in miracles and because of the blessing she is in other’s lives we know we will see them.”

True to form, Lorraine has met this challenge with faith, optimism and an unconquerable spirit.  We want to help, love, and support her through this fight and are asking you to join us by doing ANYTHING FOR A FRIEND!
