A special "FUNd" Run for the Arnolds!

LayToFarm 2014 - The Sun is Rising - Mark Arnold Benefit 

Saturday, 11/8/2014 
Half Marathon Starts at 7:00 a.m. 
10K at 8:00 a.m. 
5K 8:30 a.m. 
Online Registration closes 11/6/2014 

Start and stop at church parking lot at 2025 E. Antelope Drive, Layton (half marathoners end in Farmington and will be shuttled back) 

Please come out, and bring your friends, for the fun and the fund-raising. Self-timed. Small price, HUGE purpose. 
100% of proceeds go to Mark, of course! 
Aid stations, end-of-run food, race t-shirt, completion certificate. 
5K & 10K - $25 
Half Marathon - $35

Didn’t get a long run in this season? Did get a long run in and are in shape to do another? Aren’t in shape but want to make an end-of-season effort to get that way? Feel like doing something totally off the wall? And – most of all – want to help a friend in need? This year we dedicate the run to support a friend in need. We want this to be a BIG fund-raising fun-run for Mark Arnold and his family. ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL (ARNOLD) Keep on runnin’. The season isn’t over until you’ve done LAYTOFARM- and helped a friend in need.

Event Results:

Many have been wondering how the miracle turned out! The wait is over. With all of your love and support, we were able to raise more than $98,000 for the Arnolds and the donations are still coming in! It is amazing to see love in action. Thank you doing Anything for a Friend.Mark Arnold is a man with a big heart and a kind word for everyone.  Life has surprises for each of us and for Mark and his family it all started on Wednesday September 3rd with a phone call to his wife announcing that he had a large mass in his left lung.  WOW!

Mark and his wife Diana have seven children ranging from the ages of 33 to 11.  He has also been blessed with seven grandchildren.

He had gone to the doctor with pain in his back and side.  He was sure it was from riding too many fun rides at Sea World with his grandchildren.  The pain kept growing and growing and the fatigue was getting worse and worse, so bad that it forced even him to go to the doctor.  After an x-ray, CT scan and a biopsy he was pronounced with a diagnosis of,” Non-small cell Carcinoma” (Lung Cancer).

This sweet man with his incredible heart and family need your help!  Will you do ANYTHING FOR A FRIEND?

Mark and I looked at each other today and said,” We don’t even know how to say thank you anymore.”  It is so inadequate.  Many of our prayers are answered by each of you.    Our hearts and souls are touched by so many who mean so much to us and some that we don’t even know.  God has blessed us so abundantly through angels like you.  Please know how much we love each of you and how blessed we are to have you be a part of our lives.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Star Challenge!

Eli Anderson, Becky's 9 year old son had a great idea to "adopt" star for those in need. When he heard about Mark he wanted to help! When she told him that we only had a couple weeks, he informed her that people would help if we give them a chance. He is right and here is your chance! Someone needs your Star (or your light, love, and support) and it's the Arnold family. Will you adopt a star for Mark? 

The donations for the adoption start at $2, but you may decide to go higher. After you make your donation, please challenge someone to do the same. 

Let's see what we can do in the 5 days that we have left. Imagine combining with $10,000 other people in adopting a star for Mark and having Mark see the list on the side grow and grow. Eli will make a star with your name on it and present it to the Arnold's on the 3rd. It will be amazing! Be a part today.

Organizing Committee Meeting:

Different than most of the events, we only have 2 1/2 weeks to plan and gather everything, so we need your help immediately!  We will not be spending a lot of time in meetings, but will need you working in an independent fashion.  We need 100 completed auction baskets!  We are hoping that each of you can organize and complete 1 to 2 baskets.  Once you are finished with your basket contact Lori and Teena on the Auction Committee and get them the baskets.  Before you drop them off, please make a list of the items in the basket so a tag can be made.  Please get Lori and Teena the baskets ASAP, so they are not slammed in the last week.

Many of you have incredible talents and we are in need of all of them.  Following is a list of all of the committee Leads.  Please look through the group and contact the Lead of the committee that you would like to serve on (for general questions about the event contact Brad & Sallee Drake):
